“What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?”

- Vincent van Gogh

My artistic practice has most often focused on digital art, but an important aspect of my practice is being open to and continuously exploring new mediums and methods to aid in my creative process. The themes to my art change often to follow wherever my current passions lie; there are aspects of my identity, however, that are always intertwined with my work—such as my identity as a queer trans man. No matter the medium I use or the idea I pursue in my practice, that aspect of me is always involved in what I create, in some way or form. Sometimes this is seen in literal ways—like a drawing of a trans man with top surgery scars—but sometimes this is expressed in more abstract forms with simple shapes and colors to express my experiences as someone in this marginalized group.

When I'm not drawing, I am following my many other hobbies and passions. A trail of quickly abandoned obsessions can be found throughout my room: a basket of knitting supplies, a briefly opened wood-burning kit, a box of wool felting material. I believe in following passions as soon as they strike, and making peace with them when they fade. Other interests, like my love for writing, stick around for a longer period of time; resulting in works like my debut novel, Welcome, Caller
